A Mother-Son Duo from Tripura is reimagining the Bamboo Industry.

Swattik Chakraborty
Founder & CEO, age 24, A visionary entrepreneur shaping India’s bamboo industry. His educational journey spans prestigious institutions – Holy Cross School Agartala (ICSE), Don Bosco Public School Nainital (CBSE), and Nalanda Academy Kota.
Chose an unconventional path by stepping away from traditional education to pursue his entrepreneurial dreams, founding Bamboowala at 17, along with his Mother Smt. Ajanta Bhattacharjee (Advocate). An alumnus of the transformative Jagriti Yatra’22, where he journeyed 8000+ kms across India alongside 500+ changemakers. Served as a tourist guide with Tripura Tourism, introducing travelers to the state’s rich heritage. Featured as a TEDx speaker on ‘Swa-Dharma’, and organized Tripura’s first open mic events. Driven by the principles of Bhagavad Gita and Chanakya’s Arthashastra, he’s passionate about impactful entrepreneurship and brand building.

Ajanta Bhattacharjee
Founding Director, age 54, leverages her 21 years of legal expertise at Tripura Bar Council and extensive community leadership to strengthen our artisan partnerships. A Law graduate from Tripura Law College with B.A. (Hons) in Political Science from Tripura University, she specializes in Family Law.
Among many, her notable roles as State Secretary of BJP Tripura and previous position as Vice-Chairman of Tripura State Co-operative Federation Ltd. brings invaluable governance experience to our organization. Since 2009, her dedicated philanthropy has focused on women’s socio-economic development in Tripura, aligning perfectly with Bamboowala’s mission of artisan empowerment.
Her legal acumen and deep community connections help ensure sustainable growth and strong artisan relationships at Bamboowala.
